Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix was second in the 200 meters race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, defeating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in every event.
