Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics before she realized her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following the first time she tried, she placed second in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix got a contract to pursue professional work with Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to take classes in elementary school. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set an Junior World Record doing 200 m in 22.18 second. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She retained her title in 2007 beating her longtime Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She consistently placed within the top three places of all events.
